What do startups Asimily, Cocoon Cam and Farms2Face have in common? Besides calling San Francisco Bay Area home, they have all been founded by graduates of Rutgers University. Rutgers alumni are no stranger to founding iconic companies - Bloomberg (Duncan McMillan) , ESPN (Bill Rasmussen), Home Depot (Bernard Marcus). With a global alumni base in excess of 500,000 - given the right platform they can create an incredible network effect for new companies founded by Rutgers Alumni. 'As a Rutgers alumni and a current founder, two most important aspects for us are finding the right team and spreading our message to find customers/partners. As an early stage company, trust plays a key role in achieving both aspects. Being able to leverage the alumni network would help our company immensely' - Shankar Somasundaram, Co-Founder & CEO of Asimily. On #RUGivingDay we are announcing the launch of 'Rutgers Ventures', an initiative supported by Whiteboard Venture Partners to help Rutgers Alumni on their entrepreneurship journey. If you are a Rutgers Alumna/us, need help and/or would like to play a role in help create value at the likes of Asimily, Cocoon Cam and Farms2Face - please join the Rutgers Ventures Community to get free updates. Feel free to reach out to us with your questions. FUN FACT: Rutgers Alumni have a history of building visionary/disruptive companies. Boxed, MuleSoft, BladeLogic are among a few since 2001.
